  • Sounds like St. Kosmas Aitolos had insight about God’s sovereignty… “The Lord has prepared His throne in the heavens and His kingdom rules over all” Psalm 103:19…

This statement you quoted makes sense in lieu of what our family is experiencing. Having a modicum of understanding about the sovereignty of God is one of the only things keeping a smile on our face.

  • Chris Green says:

    Michael,

You’re right, of course. And not only God’s sovereignty – but also our participation in God’s work in the world, in the cosmos and our coming to know this sovereign God in all that we encounter in this world. For what’s it’s worth, I will add that this is a notion that plays a role in Calvin’s Institutes, even if not as prominent a role as I would like.
